DINE & RELAX

Facilities:

All of the land around the Moulin is available for use, for walking and exploring, and cycling - or, for the less energetic, relaxing on a sun lounger or hammock with a book.

Sit with a bottle of wine and enjoy the beautiful surroundings or perhaps have a picnic by the river.

A number of picnic tables are dotted around the garden and by the banks of the river. Sun loungers and chairs are all there for everyone to enjoy.

The swimming pool is a figure 8 shape and approximately 9 x 5 metres in size. It is above ground and of wooden construction, in keeping with its surroundings. The pool can be used daily during the summer and also has a decked terrace area for sunbathing.

At the lower end of the garden, the river forms a shallow, wide, slow flowing pool which offers a safe and exciting environment for older children (and of course, adults!).

For al fresco cuisine, there are two stone-built barbecues - barbecue utensils are provided in each gite.

At the Moulin, we try to be as "green" as possible. There are dedicated collection bins for glass and plastic and recycling is encouraged. We have an hydroelectric turbine that provides electricity by use of water from the river. This normally runs non-stop when there is sufficient water, generally between December and May. This is a totally green and eco-friendly electricity source and is normally sufficient (20 - 30 kW) for all requirements. We are also connected to the mains electricity supply for other periods.

The river is classified as Class A and, subject to the appropriate licence, is available for trout fishing free of charge

Approximately 100 m down the lane is a flat, secluded childrens play area.

Wildlife is fairly abundant and may be seen if you are vigilant and quiet. Animals such as deer are fairly abundant, as are large birds of prey. Other animals have also been seen, such as pine martens and the occasional otter
